Attendance

School hours are from 7:45 AM until 2:45 PM. Students should not arrive at school before 7:15 AM.  Only the Principal or designee may dismiss students, and then only with a parent or guardian's approval.

The Governor of the state of Georgia has signed into law new state attendance policies for the purposes of reducing the number of unexcused  absences from school and to increase the percentage of students present to take tests that are required to be administered under the laws of the state of Georgia.  Parents and students should become familiar with Shaw's attendance policy as stated in the book.  Shaw High School reserves the right to change attendance policies in order to comply with state law and local policies.
