Shaw's Beta Club is a local chapter of the National Beta Club, a non-profit, leadership-service organization for high school students. Its purpose is to stimulate effort, to reward achievement, and to encourage and assist its members to continue their education after high School. Our school chapter is made up of Shaw's most outstanding students. The club provides an opportunity to develop initiative and leadership, rewards merit and achievement, and is an asset to the school and the community.
Members of the Shaw High School Beta Club must exhibit worthy character, good
mentality, creditable achievement, and a commendable attitude. Members are
further required to maintain an 87.5 GPA, attend monthly meetings, take part in
Beta-sponsored activities, and complete 20 hours of documented volunteer service
by the end of each school year. Annual dues are $15. Dues cover membership in
the local and national chapters of the Beta Club. |
