Quill and Scroll is the honor society for high school journalists, founded at the University of Iowa in 1926. The Shaw High Chapter of Quill and Scroll was charted in 1979, and each spring students who excel in areas of scholastic journalism are inducted into the society. Currently there are five members, all seniors. However, new members who excel in newspaper, yearbook, literary magazine, and video and broadcast production are recommended by the respective sponsors and will be inducted in 2007. The induction includes the cording (honor cords) of senior members. Quill and Scroll is an international honor society, with chapters worldwide. To be a member of Quill and Scroll is to be a member of a distinguished and worthy society. 2007 Induction of Members
