Students, parents, faculty, and guests --
Welcome to our school.  The programs at Shaw High School, in depth and in variety, cover a range of activities, experiences, and success unmatched by any other school.  We are proud of the fact that our student body represents society: that our students and their parents come from all walks of  life, represent every aspect of our community, and that every student entering our doors is expected to achieve to the best of his/her abilities.  Shaw is committed to believe that high expectations are a basic requirement for outstanding results.  We believe that to provide for the development of productive citizens, good students, and good people, we must provide positive examples and create opportunities for success for students in academics, in activities, and in every event we sponsor.  Students come to Shaw with preconceived notions of their own abilities, and we make every effort to advice, teach, and lead them beyond the boundaries of their own expectations.  We believe strongly in the power of academic progress, positive achievement, and persistence over adversity and ignorance.  High achievement is a tradition at Shaw and is one of the primary reasons we say "it's great to be a Shaw Raider."  Let's have a good year!
