Students who are tardy to school must check in through the Attendance Office. Students must have a written note from a parent stating the date and reason for the tardiness. Oversleeping, car trouble, running errands, missing the bus, dress code violations, etc., are unexcused. Special circumstances may be taken into consideration by the school's administration. Students may not check in after 11:15 AM without a note from a physician. All students should be in class and seated prior to the 7:45 AM bell, or they are unexcused tardy and should be sent to the Attendance Office to check-in.
Students may accumulate no more than five unexcused tardies per year without penalty. Upon the fifth unexcused tardy, students will be assigned one day of Saturday School and will be required to have a parent or legal guardian present for future check-ins. If a parent or legal guardian cannot accompany the student, that student will be assigned to ISSP for the day.
Students with more than nine unexcused tardies will
not be permitted to drive to school.
