Since 1987 the Columbus area has experienced a unique idea called Teen Advisors.
This program has been hugely successful in turning negative peer pressure into
positive peer pressure. It has provided a support group for young folds
who have Biblically-based values in common as well as a desire for a safe place
where they will be free to stand up and speak out for those standards.
Last year Teen Advisors boasted representatives from Brookstone, Calvary,
Columbus, Hardaway, Harris County, Jordan, Northside, Pacelli, Shaw High
Schools, as well as several local homeschooled teenagers. If we have caught your attention, please see Mr. White in the Shaw Guidance Department and pick up a packet of information to answer any questions you may have about Shaw High School's Teen Advisors. Some questions you may have are "Why would I want to be a Teen Advisor, and what is required if I sign up?"; "What is the Teen Advisor Program all about?"; "How does the city-wide Teen Advisor team work?"; or "How much money does it cost to be a Teen Advisor?"
